For my Final Year Project during Computer Games Art course at Teesside University I decided to model this infamous piece of automotive history, the Ferrari Testarossa. The aim of my project however was to allow people to not just look at the astonishing design but also experience it, the way it was meant to be, by driving it.

Final Product - 73,332 tris
I produced a small trailer to introduce my project.
Driving the Testarossa around the Nurburgring; Edited and post-produced by me. Enjoy!
Engine Implementation - 1 Month
It wasn't entirely easy to find all the necessary documentation on the game engine, which made the process more challenging.
This is what it looked like in the beginning.
Production - 3 Month
Screenshots showcasing my work's progress.
The Null objects are for the engine to recognise the parts appropriately (e.g. the wheels, steering wheel, suspension, etc).

Mostly complete exterior but no interior yet, hence why the blacked out windows.

High-poly test - 178,000 tris (exterior only).

Week 3 & 4

Week 1 & 2

Pre-Production - 1 Week
Before starting modelling, I gathered as much photographic reference as possible from auction websites such as Bring-a-Trailer.com since these tend to take photos of every little detail in order to inform the costumers.
Along with this, and since the vehicle features a lot of hidden curvature which can be difficult to gauge from images due to lens distortion and light conditions, I also acquired a 1/24 scale kit model from Tamiya which was very valuable to understand how every single piece connected.
